2011 Chase for the Championship
How it works

Section I – Rules

Car Class - The standard SCCA National Solo Rules will be enforced
along with Allegheny Highlands By Laws and Site Rules so refer to
your rule book or ask an official if your not sure of something.

Cheating - You will be disqualified from the event. You will have the
opportunity to protest at the end of the event at which point the board
will listen to your protest and determine if your to be reinstated in the
Chase or the event.

Policing the Rules - It is up to the competitors to detect and protest
rule infractions not the event organizers. (We simply cannot babysit).

Section II - Qualifying Events

Events - You will need to compete in the four "Qualifying" events,
there are no dropped events.

The number one driver from every class, based on points, has the
option to move into a "PAX / Index Class" for the second half of the
season (last five events) i.e. "Chase".

Points - Points are awarded (Car Class), as follows; 200 for 1st, 190
for 2nd, 180 for 3rd with a 10 point reduction in each descending
position.

Awards - Everyone will receive the standard event award while the
four qualifying events are going on.

Ties - In the event that two competitors have the same number of
Class wins, the driver who has attended more "Qualifying" events will
be advanced to the chase (if they wish to participate).

In the event that both tied drivers have attended the same number of
"Qualifying" events, the drivers will have a runoff.  One run each, with
the lowest time will advance (if they wish) to the "Chase".

Section III - Chase Events

Membership - All participants in the "Chase for the Championship"
must be members of Allegheny Highlands (Home of Record or Dual
Membership).

Events - You will need to compete in the five "Chase" events, there
are no dropped events.

Points - Points reset to zero when the Chase Begins.  Points are
awarded (PAX / Index), as follows; 200 for 1st, 190 for 2nd, 180 for
3rd with a 10 point reduction in each descending position.

Awards - Everyone will receive a Chase T-Shirt, however once qualifying
is over and the top drivers are picked, they wave the right to the
standard event award in lieu of a Chase T-Shirt.

The "Chase for the Championship" T-shirt will have the Club's name,
Sponsor's name and the names of all the "Chase" competitors.

Ties - In the event that two competitors have the same number of
Chase points , the driver who has attended more "Chase" events will
be the winner.

In the event that both tied drivers have attended the same number of
"Chase" events, the drivers will have a runoff.  One run each, with the
lowest PAX / Index time determining the winner.
